San Antonio Independent School District officials have been taking their case for down-sizing – i.e. closing and consolidating schools – to the public. Superintendent Robert Duron has been speaking to community and parent groups explaining the need: The district’s enrollment is down; it has more schools than it needs; it is facing tough budget decisions; and consolidating schools would not only save money but it would improve the quality of education for students because more an diverse courses can be offered at larger schools.
Now, SAISD staff has come up with a visual aid to relay that message. You can check it out on the SAISD Web site (“Vision map lays out the path to building a stronger SAISD”).
